Cinderella the shaw theatre is ab absolute must see. 3 ex Joseph boys, Britt Ekland and Dom Littlewood, great value.

Cinderella

The Shaw Theatre is a small theatre seating about 450 with comfy seats and good leg room

Costumes were stunning throughout.

Dom Littlewood was great considering he hasn’t done Panto before. Good with the little kids from the audience when they are on stage with him. Very funny when singing Old MacDonald had a farm and getting one little boy to “with a whistle here and a whistle there, here a whistle there a whistle, etc.,

Britt Ekland was fairy godmother, her dog Tequila makes a brief entrance

Richard Meek was the dashing Prince Charming, other songs. He and James Muller have a good chemistry between them maybe due to the fact they were in Joseph together and are friends in real life.

My Jaw was aching from smiling at the jokes and at the Ugly Sisters, Paul Tate was Holly and Christopher James Jones was Ivy.

Little girls dancing to the theme from The Deerhunter were enchanting to see in the woodland winter scene.

The ghost scene was very funny too

I wasn’t the only adult joining in “oh no your not”, oh yes , you are, etc.,

A thoroughly professional show.

Very good value considering the cost of other Christmas shows. I am an OAP so my ticket was half price at £9.50, Kids are half price too Its great to be entertained for 2 hours and come out with smile on your face.

I came up from Bham and the Shaw Theatre is easy walking distance from Euston railway station. Methinks I need to go again for another dose of happiness. biggrin.gif

Out of interest.. anyone know if the tradition of Principal Boy being played by a girl is now completely dead?

1. OP is a shill?

2. The problem with principle boys is that a number of pantos (Mother Goose, Snow White, and most famously Cinderella) don't have characters who fit that role. Both London area Peter Pans have proper PB's (Bonnie Langford in Richmond and I forget who in Croydon) as do most productions of Aladdin, Dick Whittington, etc.

"and most famously Cinderella" No no noooo.. oh yes it does. When I was a kid, both the Prince AND Dandini were played by girls playing boys.

OP is genuine, I know her.

Does anyone on here know tickets are doing for this? I'm going next week - I'd rather do the evening show, I have a friend in the cast and it'd be easier to arrange meeting up after the later show than the earlier, most likely. I want to try day ticketing for Hamlet though, which would leave me having to see Cinderella in the afternoon if I'm successful (and obviously I won't know until the day whether I'll get Hamlet or not). Should it be ok if I just leave it til the day to get Cinderella tickets?
