Does anyone know if there's going to be a performance of Christmas In New York this year? I've had to miss it the last two years and really hopd that it would be an annual event.

There's a full-page ad for it in the programme for Last 5 Years: Sunday 7 December 2008, Lyric Theatre, www.christmasinnewyork.co.uk. Maria Friedman, Julie Atherton, Oliver Tompsett, Ashleigh Gray, Michael Xavier, with Adrian Hansel, Zoe Rainey, Richard Reynard, Lorna Want.

(All quoted from the aforementioned ad.)
"I don't trust that pirate girl."

I don't think so- Misplaced is a regular poster here, and as she says, she's quoting from an advert in response to a question. Even if she were a guest, who would be less deserving of trust/credit, she's still only responding to the OP. And as far as I'm aware, the Notes from New York series sell out on their own, without the need for unethical advertising on these shores.

I think the previous poster was referring to the fact that there was an ad for the Christmas Notes From New York in the programme for The Last Five Years, because Julie Atherton is involved in producing both of them, I believe (not sure if Paul Spicer is as well) - hence, self-promotion tongue.gif

Every production company I know will always promote their forthcoming event.

Hardly a cause for comment or concern

Well, as Notes From New York presented The Last 5 Years, I hardly think they can be blamed for advertising another of their events in their own programme. I was very pleased to see the advert as it alerted me to the fact that tickets are on sale and selling VERY well already. For those who don't know, Christmas In New York is a concert performance of songs mainly by newish MT composers, intermixed with traditional songs and carols. Always a very entertaining evening, and this year's cast looks tremendous although I am surprised there is no mention of Paul Spicer in the list.
The best of times is now,
Now, not some forgotten yesterday.
Now, tomorrow is too far away

Last info I have on Paul, is that he was playing Tobias in Sweeney Todd for the Gothenburg Opera, but I am checking for an update!!
