Greetings from Ealing...

Having finally managed to navigate my way to (I hope) posting a message here (I'm new), I'd like to ask:

Do any members have any idea what that very exciting actor William Houston is up to at the moment? I am having one of those very frustrating moments when one has just discovered someone's work and been blown away by them, and then promptly finds that they seem to have dropped off the radar just at present.

Imogen.

He was recently in a 3-part tv mini-series on BBC called Casualty 1907 playing a surgeon.... that's about all I know...

Just spoke to Will today. He has been doing a lot of filming. He has a film coming out called Puffball which premieres in Leicester Square on 17th July and is in a film with Ben Kingsley called 50 Dead Men Walking which is out in September. He's currently shooting Robin Hood in Hungary where he's playing an Irish King.

Lucky you, to be on chatting terms with such an interesting actor ( I know a lot of interesting botanists!). Thanks for the info - I presume this is the BBC Robin Hood series? I try to catch that as it is fun in a silly sort of way, so will keep my eyes peeled when the next series starts.

Did you see his Coriolanus?

I must admit to not being very impressed by him in that - didn't quite connect with me

No, though I wish I had; apart from anything else it's one of only two Skakespeare plays I've never seen (the other being The Two Gentlemen of Verona, probably done even less frequently!). It's an interesting and troubling play and I can't help feeling is also unpleasantly relevant at present.
Actually, I was away in the spring, and someone video'd that BBC series called "Casualty 1907" for me, and I just got round to watching it and thought "Who the hell's the fellow with the red hair and the buckets of stage presence?"!! I had been hoping someone could tell me I'd be able to catch him on stage, and see if it (the presence) carries over (suspect it carries several miles, never mind from small screen to large stage). Never mind, I try to take in new movies...

Hi All
Thanks for the update Georgina. Will playing a King........well there's a change!
I am pleased to read that the Kari Skogland film has a distributor at long last and that Puffball will become a main release after doing the rounds of the film festivals.
So, with your inside knowledge, what are the chances of him doing Doctor Who - sort of a swap with Tennant. DT goes into the RSC WH care takes The Doctor.
I get most info from the imbd.com than from his Agents website. I don't know who updates the imbd but they do a very good job!
Happy summer,
Ali

Yes, did see his Sejanus. He was fab. Funny story, we know Will and after the show we waited for him in the pub and shared a table with a woman from Australia who had just been to see the show. When Will came and joined our table, the woman was so overcome with joy/excitement that she nearly fainted! I have never seen someone's jaw drop as far as her jaw dropped!

More news on what Will is doing. He will be filming more of the Casualty 1907 series starting in December.

Saw this in Newcastle (well, most of it as I was working in the theatre bar so we kept swapping round so that we could each see as much of the shows as poss!) and thought he was phenomenal. Worked wonderfully in the little theatre too.

Lovely chap, too.
whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should
