Ok I confess this is my first ballet/dance show live and also first time I've been to Sadler's Well, so pardon me if I make a fool out of myself with my comments.
Well... I went because one of my friends was going and I got a 10 pounds ticket from lastminute.com which turned out to be centre first row which was like kick-a$$ amazing! Anyway... I'm a huge fan of the play so was sorta doubtful whether the show can be transformed into a dance show. Well... it worked really well! I loved it! The music was gorgeous! And I thought most of the changes made were quite appropriate and acceptable and made alot of sense! Hamlet was excellent, Gertrude, Ophelia as well!
The only changes I did not like was the fact that Polonius was such a strict, pushful character rather than the foolish, rather dull, boring and repetitve old man. But it did work for this production so oh well... And I was not impressed with the acting with the Laertes though I thought he danced well!

For my first ever dance show, I'm really impressed and really would recommend this to others ~
What do others think of it?

PS: Why is the guy in the posters not playing Hamlet onstage but actually he's one of the ensemble? Weird ~

All ballet companies will have about 3 different casts for each production. This is often because of the demands of the role and dancers do sustain a lot of injuries so it makes it easier then just having a simple understudy function

Hamlet was a ballet I wanted to see but I thought a lot of the changes made to the drama appeared to be sociological and I view hamlet as very much a psychological drama

Northern Ballet do produce some very good stuff. Look out for their Madam Butterfly, Christmas Carol and Wuthering Heights as they are amazing
