Just read on the BBC news site - Rowan Atkinson is to star as Fagin in the forthcoming West End stage production of Oliver!

Why has this thread been moved here? This is about the production of Oliver, not the Id Do Anything TV show. I think there should be some distinction.

Just ignore me!
I won't be called a baggage!

He used to boast that he had the same vocal range as Bing Crosby laugh.gif Do you suppose he'll be on a record-breaking West End salary? It's hard to think of someone more bankable.
Ooh, that Bernadette Shaw - what a chatterbox!

Yes, this sounds like inspired casting, and it'll probably make me buy a ticket, though I don't usually see much musical theatre. Actually, I don't think that I've been to a musical in the last ten years, and I'm sure that there will be plenty of others who don't normally see musicals but will turn up for this one just to see Atkinson. Smart casting indeed, that is if he can sing, otherwise I suppose the attendance of us non-musical theatre goers will be offset by the regular musical theatre fans staying away in droves.

Edit: just realised that I have in fact seen at least one musical during the last decade, the awful "Merry Wives The Musical", which I had mercifully blotted out from my memory.

Shouldn’t this thread be part of the I’d do any thing section? Of failing that then the trash can

Regarding your actual question: posts that are specifically about the TV programme will be posted in (or moved to) the "I'd do Anything" forum, while threads about the Oliver production in general belong in the "Musicals" forum. Sure, there's bound to be some overlap, but that's the general rule as to where these topics belong.
