Has anyone read the rumours about the Coronation street musical that everyone is talking about? Are ITV doing it?Not sure if this would make a good show to be honest

As reported in The Sun. It doesn't actually say that Coronation Street is to become a musical. Dawn Airey was speculating that some ITV shows might have a life off TV, and The Sun took the idea and intentionally ran with it to the point of absurdity. What Ms Airey actually said was "ITV have some powerful programme brands which don’t have to exist just on the telly. Musicals and plays have done good business for things like films so why not TV shows? Loose Women would be ideal. You can make money out of The Vagina Monologues, so what’s the difference?"

Unsurprisingly, some sources have taken the original, somewhat jocular, story and reported it as if the project is up and running.

See The Manchester Evening News for a less sensationalist side to the story.
In my opinion anyone interested in improving himself should not rule out becoming pure energy.

Thanks Matthew - can't imagine Corrie as a musical at all. There would be so many characters and how would you cover all those years of storylines. wouldn't mind seeing Bet do a number though!

Rogues Angels heroes and fools Corrie album- is a fantastic, its clearly written for stage, and its got some good northern banter in it. The SOngs I know how it feels ( Elsie Tanner) and Sweet Biutterfly, plus if its too late and he's my man are amazing, and not forgetting Curlys song, they all sound fab for stage ans i hope this show is soon to come, went to see Corrie the comedy play and it was fantastic, i have to say it was just missing musical numbers.
