We've just got Jersey Boys. Legally Blonde is on the way. What else should be brought over?
I know I'm in the minority but I would have liked Tarzan over here. I love the music. I think plans for a transfer have been completely scrapped though.
I would also love to see more off-Broadway productions make it over here. I really enjoy seeing shows like 'I Love You Because' and 'I Sing' at quaint little pub theatres around London. I think the New Players Theatre should be used more than it is - it's the perfect size for off-broadway transfers. Altar Boyz would be great in there.
What else should cross the pond? And what should we send their way (if anything!!)?
Young Frankenstein will undoubtedly come over here, following the success pattern of 'The Producers'.
I'd like to see Curtains- though Drowsy didn't attract me at all (I'd have seen it if I lived in London, but it didn't incline me to make the journey).
i saw tarzan, awesome score but very boring effects, very very clever for the 1st time and the 2nd and 3rd and 4th but by the time you get to axt 2,its so samey, but stunning music. curtains*opens google* loving this forum, much friendlier than DC.
Would love the Color Purple to come over here, but doubt that it would do well. Absolutely adore the show though. As for Little Mermaid. I saw it on Broadway and thought it was .... ..... ehm ... let's say not good. The set was great, the costumes looked cheap and the way they solved the "swimming" was just plain ridiculous IMO.
