Saw him last Friday in Avenue Q as Rod / Princeton and thought he was superb, Never should he be a understudy, saw him in a similar position in Joseph with Darren Day and he got the lead role.

Any opinions ??

Aww the lovely Mr Gorton! Is he now the main guy or still unerstudy? I saw him many times in Joseph and thought he was excellent, id love to see him in Ave Q as I saw Simon Lipkin when I went to see it last year. There are a few clips on Youtube of him as Rod and he looks/sounds great!

OK, this is a bit weird, but his dad came to my school to talk to me and some other people about funding our music course! He told us his son was in the west end, and we just looked at each other and went "who?" We asked him who is son was, turns out he's Simon Grton!
so....that's my pointless story..

I saw Simon Gorton as Brian on Thursday and wasn't overly impressed, but I think that's just because I don't think he looks right to play Brian and nothing to do with his performance. I would really like to see him as Rod/Princeton and reckon he'd be great.

I saw Simon as Rod/Princeton on saturday night and thought he was great, He made the puppets seem so real. I can't believe he is the understudy, he deserves the lead role from that performance.

He's good as Brian but thought he looked a bit too young, liked him as princeton but not rod.
Is he moving on or staying with ave q at cast change?
