I know some people are already fed up with the stunt casting thats
been going on for the past 18 months but I still think there is some life in it yet.

This got me to thinking that it would be a great idea to cast the three leads
for "The Witches Of Eastwick" in this way, for the forthcoming tour.

Surely that would guarantee loads of publicity, i.e ticket sales, and give the
show the recognition it truly deserves.

I was lucky enough to see the show twice at Drury Lane, and it was one of the
highlights of my theatre going life. I know it wasn't some peoples cup of proverbial
tea, but I just found the whole show both hysterical and thrilling and would dearly love for
a decent revival to do well.

Any other opinions???

They already have Marti Pellow's name to draw people in.

I think if this was going to happen, the wheels would have been set in motion by now.

Sorry Haz should have made my thoughts clearer.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Marti Pellow in the lead, not least because he will
be the first truly sexy Daryl, excepting maybe Earl Carpenter.

I know that they wont be casting the show via the reality route, just thought it could
have been interesting if they had. Im guessing the three witches have already been
cast, if not they are probably close to doing so.

Still, cant wait to see the show.

Wouldn't it be fab if Joanna Riding reprised her role.
But still I can always dream.

Casting for the witches hasn't started yet. Likely to in the next month-6 weeks.

I'd love for them to go for 3 good musical theatre girls - effectively unknown in the wider world, but experienced within MT. It's got the potential to discover some otherwise untapped talent.

I don't think the show (or even the film) is well enough known to have been successful through reality casting.

First casting notice went out at the start of this week.
I know who I'm after for Jane & Alex, not sure on Sukie.
Can't wait to see it though!

Doesn't a truly sexy Daryl somewhat miss the point? I got the impression from the book, film and West End show that Daryl Van Horne is really an utterly vile man and manages to seduce the three women using pure devillish charm rather than looks.
I won't be called a baggage!

Yeah M George, I agree!!!

But hopefully Mr Pellows charisma will win through.
If he's attractive and charismatic it should work well.
However, if they have substituted charm for looks it might be a disaster.

I've never seen Marti Pellow on stage so I can't really if his
onstage presence will blow us all away, but, fingers crossed!!!

Sadly the tour is going to be pulled. Heard from my friend closely associated with the project... Its too expensive to run and the producers can't get a production team together. The director walked, and now they are looking for a new one.

If you are working so closely to the project I can't believe your information is so wrong !

The production is nearly sold out at it's first venue Norwich and if you look at other theatre sites where they show the seating availability you'll see alot of tickets have already been sold even though the tour is months away from arriving at the theatre.

The producers Michael Harrison and Kenny Wax who are producing the sell out tour of Aspects of Love with David Essex have the same director Nikoli Foster on Board to direct Withces who has not "sadly walked out".

Are you sure your not getting confused and your working closely on the Withes of Eastwick Gravesend Am Dram Society!
