What do people think of Chichesters latest season. I think it looks very mediocre. The Cherry Orchard looks good. Pity its only got such a short run.
I wonder which of the Chichester plays will go on tour

I thought it looked like a confident program, if singularly unambitious and (other than the Goold Six Characters) backward looking. But that's what the good folk of the south coast want and that's what they get, as well done as possible. Every show does look a bit like it has been put together to 'tour, prior to a west end transfer'.

But the Headlong Six Characters sounds very tasty....

When will somebody give that Goold fella a building to run.....? I would give him Manchester RE if I could, just because that theatre needs a good boot up the bum and it would be exciting to see him direct and program in that space, no?

Of course he has already been given a space to run... he ran Northampton before leaving to go to Headlong. But yes, it would be great to see him get another building some time soon.

I wonder if his programming would become less ambitious when he eventually runs another building? After all Headlong produce less than most regional theatres, and they can tailor their work to different spaces. I can’t think of many buildings that could take all of Headlongs programme and not go bust... except maybe the Almieda...

Give him the Almieda!
