Newcomer Of The Year? Who do you think?

Who's been the best newcomer for everyone? Found it weird that Daniel Radcliff, Orlando Bloom and Billie Piper were in the best newcomer category as technically they aren't complete newcomers to the acting world as such, therefore, dont think i'll be voting for them - who deserves to win?

"Newcomer of the Year" means newcomer to the theatre, not to acting -- at least that's my understanding of the category. The three actors, while not newcomers to acting, all made their West End Debut in this past season. That is why they're on the list.

As to who deserves to win? I've only seen Daniel in Equus, so I can't make a judgment.

I've seen all but one of the nominated new-comers. For me it has to be between Leanne Jones in Hairspray, and Daniel Radcliffe in Equus. Two very different roles but very impressive performances. Maybe Leanne just edges it for me, as this is her first profesional acting performance in any sphere!

I think maybe Sabrina Aloueche, being a complete newcomer to the west end and going from a successful year as Eponine in Les Miserables for its 21st year to the lead role of Scaramouche in We Will Rock You.
She also is very sweet to chat to!

Fo guys I think maybe Gary Watson in Les Miserables. He has a beautiful voice and is very good acting wise also! The best Marius!

Daniel Radcliffe without any doubt whatsoever for me.

Film and stage acting are two very different things and for a 17 year old to make his debut in such a powerful and dramatic piece of work leaves me with no doubt that he should win this award.

surely the point of a newcomer award is to help actual newcomers along as opposed to artists who are already established? im voting for colin morgan because he is a complete newcomer and has been brilliant in the shows he has done! also, should musical theatre newcomers and acting newcomers be in the same category?

I suppose Daniel Radcliffe deserves a place in the running
