dire, dire and sadly dire compared to the originals ! Thank the lord for Delroy and a great show !

Why is Daniel Boyes so one dimensional ! Anyone met him in reallife ? Does his onstage personality and performance match his off stage one !

Did you see the same show as me .. I went on Monday and though the new cast were excellent and certainly wouldn't call Daniel Boys 'one dimensional' whatsoever. I thought he played the roles fantastically and his facial expressions were spot on.

I thought he played the roles in a different way to Jon Robyns - but it wasn't any the less impressive for that.

He's lovely and a very funny guy to meet.

Can't please everyone ...

Having seen both the OLC and the new cast this week I have to disagree - I thought the new cast did a great job. If I had to be critical I would say that Rebecca Lock needs to work more to bring Kate Monster 'alive' in the way that Julie Atherton did (and lets face it she was fantastic) but with time in the role that is sure to come.

I completely disagree about Daniel Boys - he was very charismatic and was great as Princeton/Rod. I much preferred Mark Goldthorp in this too, compared to I Love You Because.

I certainly don't think it was dire and think that is harsh ... but you are of course entitled to your opinion - it's just not the same as mine tongue.gif

Thats correct - it makes this world a beautiful place.

Am adamant that imo - the show has lost the innoncence and magic and I do find him very boring as a performer !!!

I thought that with the exception of Rebecca Lock the new cast was exceptionally good. They're still gelling together as a company but I thought that both Daniel Boys and Mark Goldthorp performed their very demanding roles wonderfully.

I wasn't particularly impressed with Rebecca Lock though. Her vocals are great but her acting skills left a lot to be desired and her bug-eyed facial expressions were somewhat off putting. I think she still has a long way to go before she is anything like as good as Julie Atherton was.

I was very sorry to read that you thought the new cast were dire - I'm sorry but I do have to disagree with you.

Daniel Boys as Princeton/Rod was absolutely superb on Monday night and you would have thought he had been performing the musical for months. His coordination with the puppets, facial expressions, voices, acting and singing were all top notch. He was absolutely brilliant.

I have to say that I liked Rebecca Lock and thought she did a good job - a very pleasant voice.

Having seen both casts, and comparing the two, Daniel, for me, was far better than Jon Robyns, but this is my opinion and I know others will be quick to disagree.

Daniel Boys is hugely talented and an extremely nice person to meet and he has been fantastic whether it be in a concert or musical.
