Stage and screen actor Anton Rogers has passed away at the age of 75. He made his stage debut in the musical The Boyfriend in the fifties but will probably be best known from sitcoms Fresh Fields and May To December.

Please may we spell his name correctly: Anton Rodgers.

Also (although I don't know whether accurate) some websites state his age as 74, not 75.
I've read date of birth 10 January 1933.

Let's not bicker over such sad news. I remember Anton fondly as a true gentleman and a consumate actor. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this sad time.
RIP Anton.

I was very sorry to read this. I've only seen Mr. Rodgers once on stage in London, as Grandpa Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I very much enjoyed his performance. I once had the chance to speak to him briefly at the stage door; he was a lovely, gracious man. My deepest sympathies to his family and friends.

This is very sad news indeed. He was such a fine, versatile actor. I shall never forget what marvellous performances he gave in "Forget Me Not Lane" and "Windy City", and shall really miss seeing him.

Very sad to hear of Anton's untimely death. I knew he pulled out of The History Boys last year but Hector is a huge part for anyone let alone a guy in his early 70's. He did some of his one night shows afterwards with his wife Actress Elizabeth Garvie so his death was a surprise. Also I saw not one mention of it on information sources like Teletext etc, considering that Anton apart from all his stage work had been a well known TV actor for many years this was sadly surprising as many people had fond memories of his work in sitcoms like Fresh Fields and May to December
