West 72nd Productions have announced their upcoming professional production of Sondheim and Weidman's ASSASSINS at the Landor Theatre in Clapham - the cast are all incredibly talented and asof course, it's a brilliant show too! More info on our website at http://www.assassinslondon.com.

It's a 10-day run from January 23rd to February 2nd, and as anyone who saw I Love You Because will know, it's a lovely little theatre well worth the short journey away from the West End!

Thanks very much for the news - especially as I see the cast includes Jeff Nicholson....

One of my very favourites! smile.gif

Argh, looks like I'll be in India or Suffolk when it's on. sad.gif
I wouldn't say a word that could be reckoned as injurious,
But to find a mother younger than her son is very curious,
And that's the kind of mother that is usually spurious.

Hmmm, interesting. Is the Landor nice? Is it unreserved seating?

Their last Assassins was very good. It's unreserved seating but it only seats about 50 people so no need to worry about the view. The booking system is a bit annoying - you leave an answerphone meassage and wait for the manager/director/box office guy (yep, all one person) to ring you back but setting up online booking isn't cheap. It's a deterrent to me though.

Yes I noticed from their site it's either that or fill in the email form to trigger the return call. Oh well - I'll give it a go - haven't ever been there so it helps with my mission to visit as many London fringe venues as possible.

The Landor is a lovely little theatre -I saw "I Love You Because" there and was really impressed. It's a close up experience with the performers because of the size of the theatre - seats are first come first served (well they were for ILYB) - there is a pub downstairs where you can have a meal before or after show - and it's an easy couple of minutes walk from tube station. Highly recommended. I'll definitely be going again.

I hate the "leave a message and we'll call you back" places. I suffer from a mild fear of telephones (yes, really), so simply making the call in the first place is difficult for me. Waiting for the response is more than I'm prepared to put up with, so I usually give places like that a miss.

I like The Landor – I saw the London premiere of Honk! there eight years ago, and I remember the theatre's indignation when the subsequent NT production of the same show termed itself the London premiere – but if I can't talk to a real person when booking I'm not interested.
In my opinion anyone interested in improving himself should not rule out becoming pure energy.

I too was apprehensive about having to be phoned back, re 'I Love You Because' -
though I struck lucky: a gentleman answered the phone straight away & booked me my ticket.

I can't remember what time I rang, though it was in an evening:
I'd never been to the Landor before,
& I remember after phoning I was fretting
in case the ringing of my telephone call might have disturbed that evening's performance.
(I don't know whether it does or not - it's just something we should perhaps bear in mind unless we're sure it does no harm.)

I've rung the Landor in the evening and it's not a problem apparently... sometimes you do get straight through to someone, but they do ring back pretty quick. Got called back same day for my Assassins ticket - very excited, the poster is great!
