Has any1 else had the opportunity of seeing C J Johnson as Maureen in Rent Remixed? Went to watch tonight, sad that Denise Van Outen was off, but this girl had every single member of that audience in the palm of her hand! Which must be pretty hard work when theyre dissappointed to begin with. Well done to her. Her performance of Over The Moon was one of the strongest funniest and most original i've ever witnessed. The audience were screaming for her at the end and we were all on our feet. Well done C J!

Bananafrit - Why has Denise been off so much lately? Is she scheduled to do all of the shows? I know that you are in the know...

I'm hearing that Denise is off so much cos her voice keeps going. I guess that's the problem when they cast a TV personality in such a challenging role. I know she has sung before, but from what i saw of her understudy when she was on, it's a real marathon. Can't imagine her singing it. Thank goodness this CJ is around, cos i hear she's been playing Maureen more than Denise herself. I really enjoyed Rent and didn't feel the need for celebrity to sell it to me.It seems to be the thing for musicals these days.

Yes now I see what the fuss is about. CJ was on as Maureen tonight and she was FANTASTIC! What a voice! Take Me or Leave Me was out of this world! I'd love to see her in more shows.

Despite my huge disappointment at not seeing Van Outen, I thought CJ was absolutely excellent.
