Has anyone heard who is going to be cast in Gone With The Wind which starts in April 2008?

No,

don't think there will be an announcement until the New Year - anything now would get forgotten about by the time the show opens.
Which way did he go McGill?

Just chatting to keep this subject alive.....plus maybe if the powers that be see this they may get some ideas....hint hint!! wink.gif

Does anyone agree that Josefina Gabrielle would be the perfect Scarlett O'Hara? I know I am biased because I have seen Josefina in Chicago several times and am a huge fan, for me she was the best Roxie that there is. What other ideas do people have?

No, she's great looking but Scarlett is meant to be 17 at the start, not approaching 50!

Summer Strallen would be great but she isn't going to be free to do it.

Who is Hugh Jackson? Is he someone theatregoers will have heard of?

It will be interesting to see whether the producers rely on the Gone with the Wind name (as with Mamma Mia and Dirty Dancing) or if they think it needs big names to sell tickets. I suppose the casting of Rhett partly depends on how difficult the score is - is it like Captain Von Trapp where they can cast a non-singer or does it need someone with proper training?

I'd heard Hugh Jackman's name bandied around (and got very excited!) so wonder if that's who was meant?

I think Pia Douwes would be great as Scarlett. She easily pulled of playing the lead role in Elisabeth from young to old and could do justice in this role too smile.gif
