Just heard that Pippa Ailion is casting Sping Awakening for London. Directed by Michael Mayer and previewing from the 22nd January. No theatre info as yet

Will be interesting to see how this goes down here.

It's planned for a short run in January 2009, not 2008. But yes, Pippa Ailion is casting.

Yes, Jan 2008 would seem a little soon, perhaps, especially with the [current] lack of available theatres. I could see this go to somewhere like the Lyric. I'd be particularly curious to see what the critical reception to this show would be over here.

Interesting news - I saw the play at the Aldwych in German performed by a Bremen theatre group in the good old days of Peter Daubeney's World Theatre season. Will be fascinated to see how it works as a musical.

Its actually opening around Easter time and Pippa is doing workshops next week.

Far superior to the re-hashed RENT!! Expect it to sweep the board at the Oliviers
