Just discovered that Joanna Riding will be playing MRS Cheveley in An Ideal Husband at Manchesters Royal Exchange over christmas. I last saw her at the Exchange in Hobsons Choice and she was excellent so very much looking forward to this.

Has anyone been to see this? I'm glad Joanna's had such good reviews, I just wish Manchester wasn't so far away!

It's excellent. Whilst Joanna Riding totally steals the show with her performance as the coniving and manipulative Mrs Cheveley, the while cast put in pretty much faultless performances in this well directed, well staged and well designed production. Rae Hendrie is particularly good as Lady Chiltern and her performance at the end of the first half was particularly affecting.
I won't be called a baggage!
