Does anyone know anything about a possible new production of 'Charly's Aunt' at the Oxford Playhouse with Reece Shearsmith in it?

Its credited on his cv on the PFD (Peter Fraser Dunlop) website but I can't find any information about it.

It's always important to get in a snide remark or a complaint in answer to a perfectly reasonable question, isn't it? I'd have thought you'd have been in favour of the production - aren't you always complaining that the standards aren't revived in a straightforward format? But even if it's not your sort of thing, why would your 'heart sink'? Is there some reason why you would be compelled to see this production against your will?

I saw Tom Courtenay in Charley's Aunt about a zillion years ago but can't even remember where we saw it! I seem to remember a lot of rushing around and not much else!!

I notice you didn't answer the perfectly reasonable question either. Well done.

This is the sort of thing I'd like to see Crimp rewriting, and/or being staged by McBurney or Mitchell. Not being facetious - I'd be genuinely interested to see what they did with it. Anyway, a quick look at the Playhouse's website reveals there was a recent production of it but I couldn't access any cast details or dates.

Has the message board gone nuts? I can access individual threads from the board front page but not any of the forums (error message).

I have noted before that as I don't watch "Friends" I have no clue what "get over yourself" or similar Americanisms mean. Sorry.

There was a cracking tour of 'Charley's Aunt' last year. I caught it in Salford. Stephen Tompkinson was in it and it was very funny!

Saw it in Richmond, it was okay, quite enjoyable. I wanted to tick a box, having never seen it before.

And by the way, I'm sitting pretty with the distinction of being the only person so far who has answered the perfectly reasonable question!
