Well hello hello HELLO!!!
I have just got back from my private lesson and my first taste of improvisation!! First of all my teacher told me that the examiner is only allowed to give us a minutes worth of music so that was a good start! Then we spend about 30 minutes talking and running through different ideas and then she left me to it...I froze! Everything she had just said left my mind and ran a mile!!! I started choreographing to it and my teacher told me not to do that, I was not allowed "a plan". So just as I was about to get that song sorted she swapped it to a very strange piece of music and told me to dance...I did!! I did a routine that lasted 40 seconds and she was ecstatically happily!!! I managed to combine the routine I learnt yesterday at an audition (that was great fun!!!) with the routine from the Chorus Line video plus a little bit of my own choreogrpahy!! I have to wait to Thursday to do it with my class mates but for now I feel fairly happy with it.
