First of all, let me apologise for posting this here; but am having no luck elsewhere. If it's in the wrong place, pls let me know... Just that denizens here seem to have a lot of gen re what's going on in the West End.

I've a few questions regarding PotO; and I'd be really grateful of any info or comments.

1- I'm a huge fan of The Phantom and I go to Her Majesty's very often. Most times I go, there are people seated in the box at the front-right of the stage (as viewed from auditorium). I've tried all the usual suspects but can't find anyone who sells seats for the box. Anyone know if they are available for public sale (and if not, who I can bribe to get in? tongue.gif )?

2- As PotO celebrates 21st anniversary on 09/10: does anyone know if any special appearances or anything out of the ordinary are planned for that perfmormance?

3- No-one is selling tickets for PotO on 10/10. Is this because the cast will be nursing hangovers from the 21st anniversary celebrations, or is there some sort of invite-only performance that night? Any comments welcome.

Thanks for any info or comments,
M.

Box seats are rarely available from ticket agencies or on on-line booking facilities. Have you tried asking at the box office when you are there?

Sometimes they are only available to a multiple of patrons - ie not to singles ! dry.gif
The engine roared, the motor hissed,
And who could see that the road would twist

Yeah!

"By invitation of the manager"... sad.gif

Show's been running almost 21 years, manager can't have that many friends!

The box is not on sale. It is used as an overflow if there is a double booking or to 'walk' people in. It is a VERY restricted view. (you lose about a 3rd of the stage).

Thanks for the info, guys. I've obviously come to the right place!

I guess I'd still like to see Phantom from the box, though... Curiosity killed the cat I suppose.

I always imagined there'd be a very restricted view of my favourite scene, Phantom in the cherubs; but thinking about it now I can imagine how restricted the view of the stage would be, especially the back portions. Just love the idea of getting closer to that gorgeous member of the corps de ballet (skinny, short, dark hair, angelic face... not a stalker, honest cool.gif ).

Anyone know/ heard/ guess anything about Q 2 & 3 re what's going on those dates?

Thanks,

Mandrake.

While we're talking about it, does anyone know the schedule of which Christine does which show? I saw it a while back but don't remember when!

The box closest to the stage on auditorium right (dress circle level) - is used by the Stage Manager to 'watch in' the chandelier drop. This is one of the many 'visual cues' that the Stage Manager has to do as part of the shows plot. Therefore I'd imagine that one will never be on sale.

It is also the case that from all the boxes you can see into the wings - which kinda spoils the magic as you can see cast/crew running the show. It's really tight backstage so the DSM has been pushed really downstage and as far onstage as possible so you would be able to see her from the auditorium left boxes.

However if seeing technical things floats your boat I guess they would be excellent places to sit! tongue.gif
