Went to see Chicago matinee and evening show for the first time yesterday, is it common practice for the band to go to the Two Brewers pub before the show and drink beer and other alcohol drinks then again at the 15 minute matinee show interval after the matinee show and before the evening show and again during the evening show interval, is it possible that is why there was so many bum notes in the show and are out of tune? Very sad as the two leads are excellent. Would like to hear your views!

No one followed them and before you make a comment I would suggest you look where the pub is? it can be clearly seen from the Cambridge theatre and as they were drinking outside the pub in full view of everyone, so they cannot be missed.
When I pay my money I expect professionalism from the band and being over the limit on alcohol I would class as not very professional. Would you be happy the next time you went to the Dentist or Doctor they had been drinking all day?

you didnt say which pub it was. are you sure it was the band? I agree, unprofessional to the extreme but its not comparable to a dentist or doctor where peoples bodies are in their hands is it.....

it might be unprofeesional, but its not the only show it happens at, alot of bands are like that over the west end. esp during the interval time.

I wasn't aware there was such a thing as a limit for playing a musical instrument under the influence of alcohol.

Considering the state of the London production of Chicago at the moment I really don't think professionalism is an objective, and hasn't been for several years. And having seen lead roles performed by the likes of Ashlee Simpson and her talent-exempt ilk I can fully understand the need to get liquored up in order to get through the show.
In my opinion anyone interested in improving himself should not rule out becoming pure energy.

With respect to you if you read my original message the pub was mentioned its not my problem if you did not read my original message and observe that fact and yes I am 100% sure it was the band, maybe a Doctor was not a good example but I am not paying £52.50 a ticket to see them.

I do not think Miss Simpson would go to the pub and go on stage drunk? do you?

I see, not sure two wrongs make a right though? no matter how many bands do it. Would you go to work drunk? and then expect to get paid for a poor performance?
