I know that many of the users of this will not be aware to much about scottish opera at the moment. Although, i had to moan to someone rolleyes.gif . Scottish opera used to perform 12 different operas every year, and now, have had there funding cut, and are now down to only 4. In syaying this, they have managed to hold on tothe scottish opera orchestra, which are an accet to the company. But these cuts have left many opera goesra up north slightly annoyed, as now only 4 times a year is it possible for us to see opera, as we are mainly cut off from any tour citcuits of large scail opera.

It really is quite sad what has happened to S.O. Also what has happened to our touring opera companies in general. I grew between Hull and York and I could always get to see Opera North. If I still lived there I would now have to travel to Leeds. WNO have cut their Spring/Summer season to a few piddley concerts in Cardiff and Birmingham.
“The staff are really exited too. Everyone’s giving me a little, doing a little that, when I walk past in the corridor, eyebrow raise thing, when usually they look away.”
