We aim to inspire and train our interns through practical, on-the-job experience. You will learn how a busy producing office works and get involved with the development of our new outdoor dance show Electric Hotel. This position is ideal for people interested in how an idea for a piece of work turns into a practical reality. Fuel has one placement for a 3 month period.

Responsible to: Stage Manager of Electric Hotel


Main Duties and Responsibilities

To assist the Production Team and the stage management team on the Electric Hotel project.

To update our database of technical contacts and production staff.

To maintain our technical storage and catalogue the contents.

To research and cost a variety of products and services, both online and on foot.

To assist in technical preparations: set building, painting, prop making.

To assist in preparing and running the Electric Hotel rehearsal room

To assist in 'get ins' and 'get outs' of the building in various towns and cities.

To be in costume during the show and take on a minor performing role.

Any other duties that maybe reasonably requested.


Terms and conditions

Fixed term placement: 3 months (15th March - 18th June), plus one week (24th July - 1st August). The office base is at Battersea Arts Centre, with rehearsals taking place in London. However your duties will require travel around London and during the show further afield.

Core office hours are 10am-6pm. Working days will be negotiated with the production team. This is a full time, fixed term voluntary position working five days a week from 22nd March until 24th April and then for an average of 6 days a week on tour from 26th April until 18th June, and 24th July to 1st August. Some evenings and/or weekend work may be required.

We will cover the cost of a zone 1-2 London Travelcard (or up to £15 per week in travel costs) to and from our base. We will provide per diems and arrange travel and accommodation whilst on tour.
