Hi, I was just wondering what shows and productions missed, and really regretted doing so, whether you had the oppurtunity to see them or not.

I personally never got round to seeing Miss Saigon (surely there's got to be a revival coming up soon). Although I'm too yound really, I wish I could of seen the greats such as Laurence Olivier and John Gielguld on stage. sad.gif

I really regret not seeing the original production of Starlight Express when it was in London. I saw the touring version which was great and hope it does someday come back and I will definately be there.

Anything Goes with John Barrowman... kick myself every time I think about the fact I missed it! Oh, and Equus with Daniel Radcliffe... saw the new cast on tour afterwards, but would have liked to have seen Mr. Potter himself!

I could kick myself for missing out on Jerusalem when I was in London recently. Had no idea how great this was till I read the script. Any chance it will come back some time? Or maybe even filmed (I think it would make a great movie)?

Loads of things such as Miss Saigon, Evita, Jerry Springer: The Opera, Anything Goes and Thoroughly Modern Millie that I didn't see just because I was way too young, or in some cases not even born, at the time. That's not really my fault though.

Then there's Spring Awakening. I had a choice between that and Sunset Boulevard. I don't regret choosing Sunset, because it was amazing, but I really wish that I saw Spring Awakening. Oh, and A Little Night Music when it was in London.

Ben Whishaw in Hamlet. I got out of the habit of going to the theatre when I first moved to London because of the cost but started going again about three years ago. I'd bet my right arm that he'll never reprise that role.

Yes I wish I'd seen that too.
My biggest wish is from years back when I didn't go to the theatre - Les Liaisons Dangeureuse(sp?) with Alan Rickman and Lindsay Duncan.

I have a fixation on 2004. The RSC's Hamlet was rather PACKED with actors that I am today a big fan of, but I didn't even like Shakespeare in 2004. And Geoffrey Streatfeild was doing Journey's End, which is a play I love, and Jonathan Pryce and Eddie Redmayne were doing The Goat, or Who is Sylvia?, which is another play I love, and the season on Broadway was simply STONKING. I have since seen Wicked, Avenue Q, and Caroline, or Change, but I wouldn't half like to have seen Assassins and The Boy from Oz as well. And of course there was Henry IV at the Lincoln Centre with Audra McDonald as Lady Percy. *sigh* Yup, as soon as they invent time machines, I'm hitting 2004 with a VENGEANCE.

Since I became a theatre-goer, I'm forever sad that I didn't see Journey's End on Broadway or Coram Boy at the National. But I'm learning to Live With It and Keep Looking Forward if there's anything else I miss in the future. :3

We've had this thread before. I had tickets for but did not go to:

Richard III - Simmon Russell-Beale
Hamlet - Kenneth Branagh
Othello - Grandage/Donmar
