Tarzan the Musical to Open in London
Netherlands ~ June 2, 2008
Tarzan the Musical ,which was elected the winner of the ANWB audience prize as being the best musical, will also be playing in London, England. Joop van den Ende announced this during the presentation of the Musical Award in Studio 22 in Hilversum. The production will be done by Stage Entertainment and Disney. Where and when the new production will start is not yet known.

Also I just read that there will be a US tour of Tarzan opening next October!
Are Disney trying to make Tarzan a success in the US after they've seen how well its done in Germany, Holland etc??

I read on the board that Flashdance isn;t expected to fill the shafts for long and a bigger US show was to take it in 2011 at some point.

Where'd you read this?
I dunno if the 'bigger US show' would be Tarzan... well then again Tarzan is a big show but I cant imagine they'd have chosen the theatre already and not be starting previews till 2011

You would be surprised, I read it on the Hairspray closing or the flashdance west end production thread. Pricialla announced last sunday that they were starting previews on broadway this time next year, LND announced its broadway opening in November 2010 in October 2009. Shows plan in advance, its just not always we hear about them that much in advance.
