I do hope so Lynette, I get vertigo if I stray more than five miles North of the Thames wink.gif

No idea, but I also hope it does. It's too good a cast to not want to see it, but I've promised myself to never again travel any further afield than Stratford-upon-Avon for my theatre. NO MATTER WHAT THE CURVE GETS UP TO. I've tested my limits, and Sheffield is unfortunately beyond them.

But ladies, it's only just over 2 hours to Sheffield by train from London!!!! Not exactly as remote as Siberia...you don't even need your passport apparently!
Well I am going on Wednesday so when I post my glowing review you will all be really envious and might reconsider whether it's worth the risk of missing out if it doesn't transfer to London.

Not sure about that ' But ladies' ...' a teeny bit patronising.

2 hours home after show means getting into London too late for public transport. And going to a matinee means taking out a whole day.

(dons tin hat after yesterday's faux pas)
Taking a whole day out is all part of the experience for me, a chance to visit a museum, exhibition, etc or just see somewhere different, as well as go to the theatre. Sheffield has the excellent Millennium Gallery (http://www.museums-s...asp#millennium1) which is well worth a few hours pre-Crucible.

Thoroughly enjoyed this. I know Antony Sher is an actor who tends to polarise opinion, and I wasn't sure if he'd be my cup of tea, but he was excellent - nervy excitement and childlike naivety, giving way to disbelief and defiance. The rest of the cast were very good (especially a delightfully Welsh Trystan Gravelle) as were the Townspeople (about 30 in all, it worked well having groups of them up in the audience area). Definitely well worth my trip and marvellous value for a £12 ticket.
Part two of my Ibsen week when I'm in London tomorrow for Ghosts.

Yeahhh. Two hours out of London would be great, if I weren't already an hour out of London (unfortunately not on the Sheffield side) and only just able to afford my Oyster fares, train tickets to somewhere as far afield as Sheffield being something of a pipedream. wink.gif

I am LOVING your description of Trystan Gravelle by the way; I too was utterly taken with how delightfully Welsh he is when I saw him at the Globe last summer. biggrin.gif

Just hoping it travels to London within the M25! Preferably within the northern arc of that! Me spoilt? biggrin.gif
