It's the narrated versn (first one I've seen) and it didn't wk as well as the straight play as the narration dominated things - felt like I was read to rather than watching a play.
Act 2 was better as the narration was ditched for the most part and the trial played as normal.
The permanent collection of crates (aka) the set didn't help as the open road 'setting' never morphed into anything else and there was reduced dramatic value in having the entire cast present onstage throughout.
The odd flickering accent and some route 1 acting by a few of the cast makes this fair dinkum watchable without ever setting the place on fire.
Not a poor man's Raisin as such but a distinctly lesser relative.
The audience loved it nonetheless.
Tim B at the controls but not masterfully so.
