Pre-Production: Immediate start
Rehearsal: 1st - 22nd March
Tech/Dress: 22nd - 25th March
Performances: 26th - 29th March

TWO performances per evening, EIGHT in total.

Producers: Antony Stuart-Hicks and The Old Vic Theatre

Directed by: Oliver Kaderbhai and Poppy Corbett for :DELIRIUM:

We are an ever evolving ensemble of artistes from all disciplines. Founded in early 2009, the company formed in order to explore a common interest in theatrical styles and methods to create work that engages on a level that spans the senses, as well as telling stories that its audience can connect with.

We are currently undertaking a new project in association with the Old Vic Theatre. The result will be a site specific performance in the atmospheric Old Vic Tunnels beneath Waterloo Station - with commendations from Kevin Spacey, Artistic Director of the Old Vic, :DELIRIUM: are setting a new standard in contemporary performance.

The Production team is in urgent need of a TECHNICAL SUPERVISOR / PRODUCTION MANAGER.

The requirements for the individual are as follows:

*to assess the feasibility and cost implication of designs, and in conjunction other departments find technical solutions

*ensure the maintenance of the set during the run of each production, in association with other departments; this should include minor repairs as necessary

*produce where necessary simple rehearsal elements such as tables or treads as required by in coming productions; this should be in conjunction with the stage manager
ensure that elements are ordered in time for other departments to do their job

*to organise the costing, purchase and delivery of all production materials and their construction

*to manage and strictly control the production budget

*to liaise with and support the director and designers

*to plan and produce production schedules, taking into account the availability and needs of the different departments

*to ensure that the design complies with licensing and health and safety regulations, that the theatre is always a safe working environment and that all persons follow the theatre's health and safety policy and procedures; to complete appropriate risk assessments

*to organise and lead regular production meetings

*to organise transportation for the production

*to organise and oversee the fit up and strike of the set, and to take a hands-on role throughout production week to be available throughout the run of the production to deal with any matters arising, including LX work.

*Plan and manage the installation of power distribution, data, communications and other services required for the production

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential qualities:

*the ability to manage and communicate with staff at all levels

*supervisory and leadership skills; this should be demonstrated by experience in technical theatre

*demonstrable experience in the production and management of budgets

*the ability to work well under pressure

*excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail

*experience of working with small, tight budgets and bringing projects in within budget

*up to date knowledge of health and safety law and excellent working practice, including experience of producing detailed risk assessments

*flexible approach to working hours
commitment to finding innovative and reliable solutions to the challenges of design and delivery of the company's work

Non essential but desirable qualities:

*theatre set building skills-basic carpentry

*skills in other areas useful within theatre such as, painting, technical drawing

*qualification in technical theatre from an accredited college or university

Currently there is are extreme limitations to the budget - however we would negotiate a contribution towards travel expenses for the duration of the project upon receipt of an invoice.
