We are looking for discipline specialists in Producing, Marketing, Design and Directing to lead a series of workshops for an upcoming education project, the Barclays Capital Staging Success Programme.

The programme seeks to explore how a text is taken ‘from page to stage’ focusing on the disciplines of how to finance, market, design and direct a production. Each workshop will take place in The Old Vic Theatre and will link to the main house production; the participants will learn actively about each discipline before applying their newly acquired knowledge to creating a group presentation, then finally watching The Old Vic production of the play that evening.

About the Role
We are looking for workshop leaders who are knowledgeable and experienced in the disciplines that will be explored through the workshop; Producers (knowledge of finance), Marketing, Design and Directing. The workshop leader will work with a workshop assistant (under the guidance of the project manager) to:
• Design and deliver a workshop for students aged 14-18 (Yrs 9-13) which deals with a specific discipline and how it contributes to taking a play ‘from page to stage’
• Aid students in preparing a group presentation relating to the play
• Assist in gathering feedback from participants
• Provide feedback regarding the process and the workshops

The ideal candidate will:
• Have at least 3 years experience of working either within a school environment or with young people
• Have strong experience within another discipline (either as a producer, in marketing, as a designer or as a director)
• Be passionate about creative learning
• Be an excellent team player
• Hold a current CRB disclosure

They will also be available for the following dates (non-negotiable):
Preparation Days
Thursday 18 and Friday 19 March: 10am – 5.30pm

Facilitation of Workshops (one workshop per day)
Monday 22 March 9.30am – 6.00pm
Tuesday 23 March 9.30am – 6.00pm
Thursday 25 March 9.30am – 6.00pm

The total fee for the project is: £400 (£80 per day) payable by invoice

We are particularly keen to receive applications from Black and Ethnic minority workshop leaders who will reflect the groups we are working with.

If you are interested, please send your CV and an email outlining your interest and what you feel you could offer the project.
