Two Shakespeare’s Are these to beat the recession crashing times?

Great to see Handspring coming back

Still no sign of a musical! – that old chestnut.

No whiff of Katie Mitchell

As good as Howard Davies is I find him a little too traditional and he is down for two shows

Frankenstein could be fun but it’s not the Christmas show. I wonder what is as Nation won’t be coming back

Well, at least they didn't just pick the obvious, safe, over-done Shakespeares. Oh, wait...

I saw Spring Storm by Tennessee Williams in Northampton when I was randomly there for the weekend as my daughter was attending a Twilight convention....I know, I know....anyway, it was excellent! And although I can see what they mean about it being a bit naive I found it fascinating as characters from later plays he wrote sort of popped up. And it has a hilarious mother figure....all in all I recommend if you are in any way a TW fan! I was very glad I had gone.
Can't wait for Women Beware Women....I love a bit of Middleton! smile.gif

Very much looking forward to Women Beware Women and Kinnears Hamlet (im not bored of it yet tongue.gif).
Frankenstein sounds like it might be quite spectacular.
Anything directed by Rupert Goold excites me.
I wonder what Katie Mitchell is doing with herself...

Do you not get their emails? Worth contacting the membership department to check they've got your address (they're very good about that sort of thing - they sorted my password a while back). I got this email yesterday

I'm not sure the NT have ever done a production of Twelfth Night in their entire history have they ?

Plenty of interest in the schedule - Women Beware Women top of my list.

I have no idea - I just meant that there just seem to be a lot of them around at the moment!

Yes, I agree, but I think we should not be too hard on the NT if they stage a Shakespeare they have never done before. Peter Hall has directed it at least once before I remember, and it was pretty good - Eric Porter as Malvolio I think.

I look forward to Nick Hytner's take on Hamlet although I can't even begin to see Rory Kinnear as the Prince....
