Hi,
i'm not sure if there's already a discussion on here but i couldn't find one so sorry if there is.
I'm really interested in going to West End Live 2010, i haven't been to West End Live so i just want to ask a few things smile.gif

What sort of time do you need to get there to get a decent view of the stage, i know it doesn't start till around 11am but i'll be coming from the east coast of suffolk therefore i want to make my visit really worthwhile, and i don't want to be disappointed by not being able to see well.

Also do people generally go to both days of the event as i was only intenting on staying for the saturday but i don't want to miss out on something really good.

Thanks for any help you can give me smile.gif

Hi. I would definitely recommend this, it's a great day of theatre, and it's free!!!! In my experience, it's pretty much a free for all when they open the gates, but I'd get there as early as you can, about 9am maybe, to make sure you're nearer the front of the queue, and just be ruthless in getting to the front!

Most acts only do the saturday, or they would do both. the Sunday last year was a shorter day with less mainstream shows taking part.

I can't wait for next years event, I had a lot of fun this summer. smile.gif

You can get an idea of what the last 2 years have been like from London Theatre Breaks blog. We had a great time! We didn't arrive early enough though so we had to content ourselves at the back for part of it this year. After an hour or so we were able to move nearer the front. The Saturday was the best day with the most well known shows. Bring water, it gets really hot in there with all those people squashed in together!

I found it to be a really unpleasant experience, you are wedged in like sardines if you are anywhere near the front, you have no chance of leaving for food and drink or toilet then returning.

Then you'll know for next time!!

Personally, I think it's fantastic that we get to sample so many shows from free.

As more shows are now doing performances on Sundays - i.e. Hairspray, Legally Blonde, maybe there will be more on on the Sunday next year.

Maybe, but they'll probably all appear on the Saturday too.

I really enjoyed it this year, though only attended Saturday - which had by far the best line up.

I'm sure there was a thread about it all.

If this link works, there's a review and video here:

I went on Saturday this year, and I really enjoyed it! I might go again this year, but it depends on when my horrible exams will be. We got there at about midday, and we got let straight in, fine. We did have to stand near the back for a bit but then we could move forward after some people had left. I didn't go to London just for West End Live, though, I went to a concert in the evening. I think if I was just going for West End Live I would stay all day - the line up was really good.
