Peter Robbins one half of the best “sister” act in Britain has suddenly died at only 56.
Along with his stage partner Nigel Ellacott, Peter appeared at the Theatre Royal, Newcastle in Cinderella. This was the year Michael Harrison, MD of Qdos Pantomimes, introduced the North East to Danny Adams and Clive Webb and co-starred Jill Halfpenny.
Peter was an accomplished Puppeteer, working on the Warner Brothers Film Little Shop of Horrors and in two Henson movies, Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppet Treasure Island.
An accomplished cook, he appeared, with Nigel on Ready Steady Cook as the Sisters, and won. He also appeared in Jennifer Saunder’s Mirrorball for the BBC.

The hordings are down and the new frontage of the Whitley Bay Playhouse can been seen after its multi million pound revamp. Aiming to be the 3rd most important theatre North of the Tyne there is still a lot of work to be done but the new glass exterior is now standing there for all to see and it is hard to remember the old building that once stood on the site

DANCING ON ICE STAR Roxanne Pallett is swapping her ice skates for a pair of glass slippers following the announcement she will star as Cinderella in the Newcastle Theatre Royal’s record breaking pantomime.
The 26 year old Carlise-born actress, famous for her former role as Jo Sugden in Emmerdale and her stunning performance on ITV1’s Dancing on Ice, will join the stars of the Theatre Royal pantomime Clive Webb and Danny Adams in the most magical pantomime of them all. Read more

The Tales of Peter Rabbit will be at the Jounal Tyne Theatre on Sunday 20th September 2009
With brand new songs, beautifully designed scenery and costumes The Tales of Peter Rabbit is destined to bring the famous books to life in a new and exciting way.
Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunnywill have an adventure through the forest to Mr McGregor’s garden to fetch a nice juicy lettuce – the one place Peter was told not to go!
They’ll be meeting some friendly and familiar faces on the way, including Mrs Tiggy-Winkle, Jemima Puddle-Duck, Tom Kitten and maybe someone not quite so friendly… Mr McGregor himself, a giant of a man who has designs on a nice rabbit pie!
