The Man Who Was The Cornishman

Come share the Cornish Christmases throughout the life of Mr Herbert Thomas, editor of The Cornishman newspaper for over forty years. Mr Thomas was quite the local celebrity, a poet, mining expert, songwriter, adventurer and very much a larger-than-life local character, as you will come to see. It’s Christmas Eve 1950 and over many glasses of rum n’ shrub, a very elderly Mr Thomas shares the story of his life with his housekeeper Mrs Stringer. This show brings together historical Christmas newspaper stories, advertisements, photographs, and music for a jolly multi-media performance bursting with nostalgic Christmas magic.
