Sockpuppetis an innovative piece of devised theatre about ‘deepfakes’: the ever so slightly scary technological phenomenon where anyone can pretend to be anyone else. Almost. Following the lives of four students exploring the thorny underbelly of the internet from a university bedroom, the piece explores the fun and fear of disguise. Utilising live cameras and video projection, Buzzcut’s new work crafts a unique theatrical experience in the Burton Taylor’s intimate studio.
