Based on true events; The Lost Lionesses tells the story of a team of pioneering young women who travel to Mexico to play in the 1971 women’s football world cup in front of 90,000 people! But not everyone is thrilled… From humble beginnings on a pitch in Luton to signing autographs for countless fans outside the famous Azteca Stadium. Come follow the team of ragtag teenagers from England and their maverick manager; Harry batt as they embark on the biggest life changing journey that no one has ever heard of… until now! This story features verbatim recounts of memories from the 1971 players themselves and their trailblazing manager Harry Batt. The Lost Lionesses is written by the niece of one of the 1971 players; Christine Lockwood.
