About This Show

The experience is set on Christmas Eve, 1843. Guests are cast as Dickens’ friends and associates, invited to the house to hear a new and as yet unknown festive story, just in case it needs any final tweaks before going to press. As guests are guided to their seats, lodged between the teetering piles of books in Dickens’ study, the writer stalks amongst them, wrestling with his opening words. At last, he speaks the immortal line “Marley was dead to begin with…” and so the evening begins. Within minutes it is clear that this is no informal reading. Friends from London’s theatrical community – be it ‘Mr Adams’, Head Technician of The Haymarket Theatre or ‘Maestro Copperfield’ of The Royal Opera House – emerge to work their magic, high-tech gaslights begin to flare and stunning live music is conjured from thin air, transforming the performance into a rich and immersive experience.

Created by The Lost Estate, London’s master experience makers, The Great Christmas Feast transports audiences to the streets of Victorian London and the chambers of Charles Dickens, immersing them in the tale of A Christmas Carol through a mix of theatre, live music, Victorian feasting, and Dickensian mixology.

Secret Location near West Kensigton and Earls Court.
