Will recounts late night piano sessions as a boy accompanying his Dad singing, most notably, the songs of Schubert. Taking the composers’ epic setting of Goethe’s poem Erlkonig (about a father and a son), Will deconstructs and re-interprets the original music and verse to tell the story of his relationship with his own Dad. Encountering Elvis look-a-likes, fairground boxers, a department of pharmaceutical managers and more, Will conjures a rich array, blending humour with heartbreaking melody, and exploring what it is to be a son, a father, a dreamer, and how music touches us all.
