The Lyric Hammersmith are honoured to welcome one of Britain’s most popular and celebrated poets, Lemn Sissay, to their stage for the inaugural festival, For the Culture: Celebrations of Blackness.
Experience his seminal body of work with a selection of readings by Lemn himself as well as stories about his life and work.
Lemn Sissay was seventeen when he wrote his first poetry book, which he hand-sold to the miners and millworkers of Wigan. Since then, his poems have become landmarks, sculpted in granite and built from concrete, recorded on era-defining albums and declaimed in over thirty countries.
