About This Show

In the summer of 1908, a vicious pay cut was forced upon young women workers at the Corruganza box factory in Summerstown. Mary Macarthur, and the recently formed National Federation of Women Workers, came to the rescue. Mary’s biographer Dr Cathy Hunt will be coming to Tara to give an illustrated talk on this pivotal industrial action by working class women. She’ll highlight the legacy of this great woman and reflect on how strength through collective unity is still so relevant in the workplace of today.
