ADAPTED AND DIRECTED FOR THE STAGE BY BERLINER ENSEMBLE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR OLIVER REESE
FROM THE NOVEL BY SCOTT MCCLANAHAN
STARRING JONATHAN SLINGER
Berliner Ensemble Artistic Director Oliver Reese returns to the The Coronet Theatre following his sold-out production of The Tin Drum to direct Sarah, cult icon Scott McClanahan’s semi-autobiographical “elliptical fever dream” (New York Times) The Sarah Book.
Sarah is an intimate and surprisingly funny one-man show about love and loss in contemporary West Virginia. McClanahan takes us through the journey of a young couple as they fall in love, begin their life together and then fall apart as the marriage breaks down.
Acclaimed actor Jonathan Slinger (RSC’s The Histories, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Absolute Hell) brings Scott McClanahan to life in this hilarious, unflinching and tragic portrait of a man trying to live the American dream as his world crumbles around him.
