John Williams – With Berta Rojas and Paco Pena

About the Show

Globally recognised amongst the top rank of classical guitarists, John Williams has made over thirty best-selling recordings across a broad range of styles, including music for films such as Deerhunter (Cavatina), A Fish Called Wanda and collaborations with groups such as Sky, Attacca and Inti Illimani.

A weekend of candlelit concerts. On Saturday 21 July, John will explore music ranging from Vivaldi to Venezuelan pieces, sharing the stage with Paraguayan guitarist extraordinaire Berta Rojas. Berta’s repertoire will pay homage to her compatriot and classical guitar pioneer, Agust?n Barrios Mangore. The following evening, John and Paco Pe?a will perform a selection of their favourite works in celebration of their 49 year friendship. Multi-award-winning guitarist Paco Pena will continue to redefine our perceptions of flamenco, whilst John will explore Spanish pieces from the sixteenth century onwards.
