In a libretto drawn by David Simpatico from the much-loved 1848 novella, we meet Ebenezer Scrooge, the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future, and the family and friends whose kindness Scrooge has hardened his heart against, only to understand by their example the meaning of Christmas. Directed by Martin Duncan (Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland), eight of the company’s finest principals perform A Christmas Carol semi-staged in the beautiful setting of Thomas Archer’s Smith Square masterpiece.
