On 5th July 1919 Bella Wright was killed by a bullet through the head near the village of Little Stretton on the outskirts of Leicester. A search began for the last person to see her alive ? a man cycling with her on a distinctive green bicycle. The search went cold until seven months later a green bicycle was dragged from Leicester canal. The ownership of the bicycle was traced to Ronald Light.
The play commemorates the centenary of Light’s trial for murder which took place in Leicester Castle on 9th June 1920.
