Don has been on the road entertaining audiences for nearly 30 years. One of Ireland’s most revered musicians, Don’s life has been both poignant and fast paced. Desperate conditions during his 1950s childhood saw him hospitalized with TB at age 7 and then drift into petty crime as a child and young adult which brought him in and out of remand homes and prison until age 19. It could be said that hospital introduced Don Baker to the harmonica; prison to the guitar and inner-city Dublin tenement life to the blues. The current band line-up features Gerry Hendrick (with Don’s band for over 15 years) on lead, slide and acoustic guitars, Martin Crawford on bass guitar and Kevin Malone on drums.
