Rite of Spring will be the second contemporary dance piece by Yang Liping. Here she offers her interpretation of one of the most revered musical scores for dance in the 20th century. What sets Yang’s version apart is that it will be influenced by Tibetan and Chinese symbols of nature as well as beliefs in the cyclicity of life and death.
The thematic structure of the work is: Incantation -Sacrifice-Reincarnation.
