Prom 60 – BBC Open Music Prom

About the Show

Part of the BBC Proms.

Innovation, imagination and a reflection of today’s audiences are at the heart of the first-ever BBC Open Music Prom. Tonight the reins are handed over to the 30 successful musicians and creatives (selected from over 1,300 applicants across the UK) who made it onto the BBC’s new Open Music training and mentoring scheme. From a wealth of new ideas and outside-the-box thinking, the winning pitch is being developed with the support of creative director Ruth Mariner. The possibilities are many but what’s certain is that nothing of this type will have been seen at the Proms before.
