Prom 29 – Leif Ove Andsnes – Mozart Momentum 2

The second of three concerts from Leif Ove Andsnes and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra presents further highlights from their four-year Mozart Momentum project. Andsnes is both soloist and conductor, directing a sequence of songs and arias with soprano Christiane Karg, as well as the composer’s sophisticated ‘Prague’ Symphony with its gamut of musical emotions – a triumphant follow-up to the success of The Marriage of Figaro – before moving to the keyboard for the chamber-music-like intimacy and conversational woodwind exchanges of the Piano Concerto No. 24.
