Judy and I: A Night with Lucy Penrose

After playing Judy Garland in the West End and for ITV, artist Lucy Penrose debuts her new show. Penrose has adored Judy Garland from the moment she saw those ruby slippers step onto the yellow brick road. Penrose explores how love and life are reflected in the songs of the woman with the golden voice. Both a heartfelt hymn to the acclaimed chanteuse, and an account of one artist’s connection to another; Judy & I is part memoir, part biography, and part celebration. Penrose explores her relationship with Garland and the impact this long standing connection has had on her career, in her life choices, loves and everything else. Teaming back together with Ray Rackham, the writer and director of “Judy!”, the extraordinary biographical musical that took the West End by storm. Accompanied by the incredible Tom Knowles on piano, Judy & I features a plethora of songs made famous, or inspired, by Garland herself, JUDY & I promises to go beyond the rainbow of a fan’s obsession with a star; and confirms Penrose as a phenomenal talent on the London cabaret scene.
