Following two sold-out runs, the critically-acclaimed immersive show, Bacchanalia, is returning in even greater form. The performance itself is a fully-immersive adaptation of The Bacchae, by ancient great tragedian, Euripides, set in a psychedelic 1960s version of the City of Thebes.
The performance takes place at the arrival of Dionysus, the god of wine and pleasure, in Thebes, inviting audiences to witness a descent from calm, into divine madness and debauchery.
Bacchanalia has seen widespread acclaim, and was included in The Stage’s Top 50 Show of 2023. Broadway Worlddescribes this latest run as “highly anticipated” and Immersive Rumours labelled the show, “Lightning in a bottle”.
Audiences are able to roam freely throughout the city, following characters and exploring the set at will – the result being that every audience member’s experience is unique and deeply personal.
For one month only, the show is taking over the entirety of Hoxton Hall’s Grade II* listed building, converting the stunning Shoreditch venue into an arena fit for the gods.
Limited tickets are now available for this fast-paced run – Step into a clash of gods and mortals and ask yourself… Do you deny a god?
